Quantasia Sharpton, one of three people who have recently claimed Usher exposed them to genital herpes, is fighting back against the singer’s claims that he would never have had sex with her because she’s not “his type.”
In response to his efforts to malign her version of events as well as her looks, the 21-year-old claims she has a video showing her sexual encounter with him.
Moreover, in the interview with YouTube blogger Miss Jacob Kohinoor, Sharpton said Usher, 38, was aware the camera was on him at the time, the Daily News reported.
She added there were security cameras in the Days Inn in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where the alleged encounter took place in in 2014. She said her attorney, Lisa Bloom, intends to subpoena the hotel’s footage as further proof in her case.
A former Days Inn employee previously told TMZ that she spotted the award-winning recording artist in the hotel lobby. She claimed he met Sharpton there and followed her up to her room not long after midnight.
In the weeks after it was revealed that Usher reportedly paid a woman $1.1 million in 2012 to settle a lawsuit after she claimed to have contracted herpes from him, Sharpton and two more people pressed claims against the singer, alleging he failed to warn them of his STD diagnosis. Their lawsuit has been filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
While Sharpton said she didn’t contract herpes from her alleged encounter with Usher, she is suing the R&B singer for knowingly exposing her to the virus without telling her he had it. She said hat Usher’s perceived dishonesty about his status has caused her great anguish.
Usher’s other two accusers — a man and a woman — have so far chosen to remain anonymous.
During a press conference in early August, Sharpton said she was at an Usher concert when she was 19. It was her birthday and she was wearing a crown, so apparently she got noticed by some of his people.
“I was selected to go backstage before the show,” she said at her press conference. She was told that Usher had seen her backstage and asked for her number. After the concert, she said she returned to her hotel and got a call from Usher, asking for her hotel and room number. He arrived a half hour later. They talked for a while, then had “sexual contact,” Sharpton said.
According to TMZ, Usher told members of his “circle” that he may have pulled Sharpton up on stage at a concert, though he doesn’t specifically remember. That’s because he “looks to bring a diverse group of people up onstage, not just supermodels,” these sources told TMZ. He believes it’s an “esteem booster” for women to be singled out by him in this way.
However, Usher has been emphatic in saying he “absolutely didn’t hook up” with Sharpton.
Usher has not publicly responded to to Sharpton’s claim, but he has denied another woman’s claim that he’s the one who gave her genital herpes. His defense is that the woman took the risk of contracting the virus by having casual, unprotected sex, according to TMZ.
Sharpton’s attorney said Usher has not publicly denied the reports that he was diagnosed with the virus in approximately 2009.
